Last weekend the final European Botball workshop was held at the Antwerp International School (AIS). The participants tinkered and programmed with a lot of fun and motivation and furthermore build the foundations to participate at this year’s ECER.
Founded was the first Belgian Botball team through the dedicated and motivated teacher, Mr. Atif Hussain, who also supervised Botball teams at his former school in Egypt before. His students, which visited school on weekends because of the workshop, were at least equally motivated as their supervisor and showed an admirable thirst for knowledge. Building robots, testing sensors, learning how to program and a lot of trying made the time fly by way too fast.
But not only the technical challenges have been addressed – at the end of the second workshop day the organization was discussed as well: In less than two months the ECER is already held, but is it possible for all team members to find the necessary time for the preparation aside from school? During the following discussion all demonstrated great maturity, openness and realism. The result was a – slightly – smaller team with a clear goal and the necessary skills.
We wish the “Team Belgium” all the best during their preparation for this year’s ECER!
